Why does she want it?
I'm looking for a not too sporty, non leather backpack that I can bring from the gym to the office. Must be big enough to fit sneakers and change of clothes, but look as compact as possible. I'm open to fun colors and patterns, but nothing too crazy.

I haven’t carried a backpack since 6th grade but now have the perfect reason to start! Of course I love the rad fast food pattern but this thing is super well made with zip pockets galore & fully lined with a nylon french-fry print interior.
I loved this backpack for my 14" laptop. But now that I have a laptop with a 17" screen, I'm in the market for something bigger.

I have this bag and it's delightful. I take it to school, work, and on vacation. It's got a padded laptop area, two generous side pockets with tons of compartments for everything you need, and it's main area is big enough for all my chem books or my work files. It's sleek but comfy, so it's a good choice for work.
Update: I just returned this bag. It wasn't good enough quality. Also my work provided a free one of much better quality. I think this would be a good bag for traveling with my laptop. I find that the one shoulder bags really irritate my body since it is not ergonomic. This is oldschool with 2 straps. I like the color combination. I'm getting the grey/lavender since I like it and also it will deter my husband from taking it!
This knapsack weighs only one pound, and it looks -- to me -- like an adorable piece of art. It boasts an exterior pocket as well as plenty of interior space.
