Very good material, but a LOT of filler. This album is very polished and kind of sands down the jagged rock n' roll feel of the first three albums, but on the other hand, is very musically inclined and expansive. It shows the evolution of the band from their peak, "London Calling" to their final breath "Combat Rock".

Since their near perfect debut, The Clash had been consciouslly evolving musically. Police & Thieves, nearly a third of London Calling, & then Sandinista!. This album is rock, pop, new wave, r&b, world, disco, rap, dub, rockabilly, & countless others, but is punk overall. Joe Strummer stays true to form, singing about working class troubles, political crimes, & whatever else was happening in the world at the time.
