Campaign Description
Film is one of my major passions and my favorite film festival in the world is the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival which starts July 4 in Karlovy Vary, in the Czech Republic.

Besides being the world's most audience-focused festival, it is also, by far, the most democratic and accessible. Films are typically less than $5 and any unsold seats are opened up to the general public for free. As a result, most screenings are at capacity and the energy and engagement level is high. The festival also subsidizes a tent city during the Festival allowing backpackers to spend the week in one of CR's most beautiful resort towns for only two bucks a night.
So, it is cheap but one still has to have a little money.
The festival is the only break I take all year and it's a chance for me to relax and re-energize. For me, it's the most important week of the year. Essential to my soul, really.
While I'm never particularly flush, this year I'm more poor than usual and don't have any spare cash to go, which, no exaggeration, would crush my spirit.
So I'm asking for my blog readers and Internet friends to sponsor me. I figure to have a really full festival I would need 7000 K?, or $432. I could eke by with 5000 but I need to buy a new tent since last year my cheap Tesco one was ripped apart in a rainstorm during the Fest.
Just like last year, I will blog the Fest every day, but this year I plan on posting more videos and photos as well, hopefully with some interviews with filmmakers, who are easily approached in this very social festival.
Check out the previous year's coverage, as well as a lot more of my film writing, here at my old blog:

Thanks for your help. I will appreciate even the smallest donation.
