On September 2nd 2008, 7-10,000 people will gather at the state capitol to engage in trainings, education, community building, music and art in the name of advancing social and environmental solutions.
RIPPLE EFFECT - a daylong festival propelling a new wave of progressive action outside the RNC - will go beyond the convention and beyond partisanship to empower and unite people of all background and interests. To practice our mission, the event will be zero-waste and run entirely on renewable energy.
As a coalition of many local and national progressive organizations, RIPPLE EFFECT will be a catalyst to the already burgeoning global movement for sustainability, justice, and equality.
RIPPLE EFFECT is being put on entirely by unpaid staff and volunteers, who are depending on your contribution to turn their vision and hard work into a reality.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated, from $1 to $80,000 (our fundraising goal), 100% of which goes directly to the cause.
We hope you can participate in making RIPPLE EFFECT a success!

I'm pumped this is gonna be a huge event - everybody get on the renewable energy band wagon - picture this bad boy powering concerts and teaching all visitors, all ages about solar, biodiesel, hydrogen, wind power and more!

I would give some money, but I read about the sponsors and there is waaaay too much promotion of government going on. Doesn't sound like it'll be an "alternative" at all.
