The Genocide Awareness group invites you to join us in sponsoring a child in a genocide-ravaged country. For $1500.00 we will not only be able to sponsor a child for 2 years, but we will also be able to give direct aid to his/her community as well.
Every person has difficulties, but none can compare with what many children all over the world try to live through each and every day, including Flavia, the little girl from Rwanda that we are currently sponsoring. Many have no money, no food, no water, no toys, no educational opportunities, no doctors or medical care, and perhaps worst of all, no hope. They are offered no choice but to live in fear and desperation every day and fear for their parents and brothers and sisters.
Your donation helps to give hope to many through the funding of vital development work in Flavia's community, work such as digging wells, improving sanitation, and building health clinics to provide clean water, nutritious food, health care, and access to education.
There isn't a Photo section here but we will still post all that we can. ALL information and letters and photos we receive will be posted at Genocide Awareness in the Photo section and also in the Discussion Topic named 'Letters from Flavia' (but with the full name and location omitted - full information will be made available only to donors upon request).
And so whether it's $5, $50, or $500, every penny helps. Dig up the change in your couch, crack open your penny jar or piggy bank, return your empty beer and pop bottles, ANYTHING that you can give will help make life better for a little girl in desperate need. Donations can even be made anonymously if so desired.
Our most recent cash gift resulted in Flaviah and her family finally getting to purchase a few of the most basic of necessities that most of us take for granted, things such as soap, and blankets, and shoes.
No extras of any kind, not a doll that every eight year old girl should have, not a little bite of candy, just the absolute essentials needed for them to get by for a little while longer. If these are the items that they needed to buy with our donation, how difficult must their lives be without our help?
Many people would sponsor a child but simply can't afford it. But if we all chip in together we can do it, we can help, we can change the world, one child at a time.
