I'm having the same problem with my laptop keyboard as interference. No input at all, even though the applet has focus.

does the applet have keyboard focus? if it doesn't have focus by default, try clicking inside it (you should be able to move the ship around before the game even starts).

Hmm. For some odd reason pressing the arrow keys on my laptop aren't moving the ship. Argh!

1,400+ is definitely possible... The fact that I created the game gave me an unfair advantage because I played the game what feels like 1,400 times!

I removed my score from the list...

I was ahead of you at one point in time. I don't see how it's possible to get 1,465.
