Using the Facebook Phonebanking Tool
After choosing "Click Here to Contact Your List", a script, phone number, and the name of a potential voter appears.
Dial the phone number in the upper left-hand box.
Use the appropriate script.
The scripts are as follows:
Contact is home (If at home, large box below contact's name)
Contact is not available, but you speak to a person (If no one is available, upper right box)
Contact is not available, and you leave a voicemail (If voicemaiI, second box from top on right)
Contact does not answer at all (No answer, third box from top on right)
If you reach the wrong number or encounter another problem, choose the issue accordingly in the If problem box on the bottom right).
If a contact would like to be added to the mobile phone list, click on "Add voter information" located under the contact's name near the of the page to update the information.
After completing the call, be sure to fill one of the corresponding circles.
Click the blue "Next" button in the bottom right corner to go to the next contact.
Tips for making calls:
Practice the script a few times until you are comfortable. If you would like to change a few words, that's fine as long as the pertinent information is covered.
Calm down.
Be yourself.
Speak slowly.
Allow the contact to answer your questions.
Smile - the contact will "hear" it over the phone.
Recruit your friends to download the application by clicking on "Recruit" near the top of the page.
