Band Bio: The story of Rapper SUGE B. is one filled with determination, dedication and perseverance, a true testament to the fact that big talent can emerge from a small town. A life that began around the traps of the ATL and matured on the dangerous and corrupt streets of Youngstown, OH built a foundation for creative energy and a commitment to hard work. Although only 23 years old, SUGE B is a veteran on the independent rap scene. Since being introduced to rap fans in 1998 as part of the group Self-Made Figgaz “The Rapper” SUGE B. began his solo career in 2003 long after the group dismantled in early 2000. His ability to blend his Midwestern twang and southern sensibility with the experience of crafty song writing is not something that most outsiders expect from an artist representing the often overlooked Midwest state of Ohio. Lacking access to the opportunities that often present themselves in a larger city, SUGE B. had to achieve success the old fashion way… HARD WORK!!! SUGE B. is constantly corresponding with DJs, Promoters, Media Personnel, Club Owners and his hip-hop peers in an effort to leave no stone unturned. This all inclusive approach has earned SUGE the reputation amongst his peers as being “one of the hardest working and most visible rappers out” If his creative energy and dedication to hard work is what separated him from the pack, his originality and perseverance is what continues to add to his street buzz and expand his fan base. In mid-2006 SUGE B. spearheaded the VOTE OHIO movement, a promotional and digital marketing campaign to boost awareness of his submission to the MTV “Your Block” contest. SUGE B. and his team were responsible for 105,211individual digital votes, roughly one-third of all ballots cast in this nationwide contest. It was no shock to those that know him that MTV chose the film hosted by Rapper SUGE B. as one of only four finalists nationwide. He has appeared alongside rap veterans Daz Dillinger (founding member of Tha Dogg Pound and cousin of the legendary Snoop Dogg) RBL Posse and Bad Azz on the Check’N 100 Racks Over State Lines Album with the hit single “By The Case” and also contributed to the American Hustler Compilation Album with his song “FRESH”. Since the dawning of the new millennium, SUGE B. has seen both his name and fame grow locally but with his focus on nationwide notoriety his work ethic remains strong.
