  • Jun 24 - I have improved the search function so that it can handle misspellings better. For example, if you search for "Hogarden", you will still find "Hoegaarden". Please let me know if you run in to any problems with it.
  • Jun 22 - I haven't yet had time to add any new major features, but today I did add a new section to each Beer Detail Page: "People who like/dislike this beer describe it as ...". For example, Corona Extra, the most rated beer in this app, is described as refreshing, light, smooth, clean and tasty by people who like it but as watery, skunky, light, overrated and weak by people who dislike it. These adjectives were determined automatically by scanning the textual comments that people add to ratings, so it's highly possible that some of them are incorrect. Eventually, I will add a feature that lets you specify explicitly what words you would use to describe a beer. Until then, I hope you find this feature interesting and useful as far as it is correct.
  • Jun 21 - This app is two years old today! Woohoo!
  • Jun 16 - I finally graduated from college this past Saturday, so now I hope to have a lot more time to work on this application! Stay tuned.
  • May 28 - I've improved the way that the app determines your "favorite" styles and breweries, so it should be a little more accurate now. I haven't yet added the capability for you to edit these favorite styles and breweries (if you don't agree with what the app has guessed), but that will come pretty soon, especially since it is the most requested feature.
  • May 26 - Very small new feature: if you check the "Search within my ratings" box when searching for beers, it will search within your rating comments as well as the beer names.
  • Apr 24 - You can now search for beers by barcode. Just type any 6, 8 or 12-digit UPC barcode that you see on a beer bottle or case, and the app will attempt to find it for you.
  • Mar 5 - I've reverted the restriction mentioned below after getting numerous complaints from users who are in fact of legal drinking age but were being restricted anyway. Apparently Facebook's restriction mechanism is fundamentally flawed (absolutely no surprise there!) so I refuse to comply with their stupid policies, even though their supposed deadline for complying is tomorrow. They need to fix their bugs first.
  • Mar 4 - In order to comply with Facebook's Demographic Restriction policies, I've restricted this app to be viewable only by people of legal drinking age. If you can read this message at all, ummm, congratulations? Oh, and drink responsibly! =P
  • Jan 27 - Unfortunately, I'm too busy with school to make any large updates, but I just made a quick addition. Beer detail pages, like this one for Guinness Draught, now show the number of people who have it in their fridge/want list.
  • Jan 1 - Happy New Year! In the Suggestion Box, you can now add your comments to each feature. I've also added a new Discussion Board for you to discuss whatever you want, including new feature suggestions.
