Each Entrant, by checking the box indicating that he/she agrees to be bound by the Official Rules, certifies that he/she has the right, and does thereby authorize Sponsor, to publish the entry submitted (or portions thereof as edited or selected at Sponsor’s discretion, including the replacement of any recipe item with the similar/equivalent substitution of a generic/non-proprietary item), in print, audio, video, internet or other media and to use the idea encompassed in the entry in perpetuity. Entrant further certifies that he/she has obtained permission from any person whose name or likeness is used in the entry, and publication of the entry will not infringe on the rights of any third party. Should an entry be selected as a Finalist, the Entrant will be contacted (via the email address provided at time of entry), to complete a release and license agreement, authorizing Sponsor to publish the entry (or portions thereof as edited or selected at Sponsor’s discretion), in print, audio, video, internet or other media and to use the ideas encompassed in the entry in perpetuity. Additional details are in To Enter section above and Winner Selection/Judging Criteria section below.
WINNER SELECTION/JUDGING CRITERIA: Entries meeting eligibility and entry requirements will be judged in two ways to determine Finalists: 1) registered site visitors may vote once per day during the Promotion Period for their favorite recipe and photo, and the ten (10) entries receiving the greatest number of votes will be declared Voter Finalists, 2) representatives of PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur (PAMA panel), will judge all entries to select ten (10) additional Finalists. The ten (10) Finalists selected by the PAMA panel will be judged in two stages: first, the recipe will be judged and, second, if the recipe scores well, the photo will be judged. The ten entries with the highest combined ranking as judged by the PAMA panel will be named Panel Finalists. If both the online voters and the PAMA panel select one or more of the same entries, additional Finalist(s) will be selected by the PAMA panel so that no fewer than 20 Finalists will be declared. Recipes will be judged by the PAMA panel with the following equally weighted criteria: •Originality/creativity of recipe •Unique use of PAMA within the recipe •Appropriateness of recipe name. Photos will be judged by the PAMA panel based on the following equally weighted criteria: •Originality of message •Expression of enthusiasm •Quality of image.
Finalists will then be judged by a panel of Top Chef cheftestants, to determine one Grand Prize and three First Prize Winners. Recipes will be judged with the following equally weighted criteria: •Use of PAMA to enhance the overall taste of the recipe •Uniqueness of recipe •Taste appeal of ingredient combination. Photos will be judged based on the following equally weighted criteria: •Originality of message •Expression of enthusiasm •Quality of image. The entry with the highest combined ranking will be declared the Grand Prize Winner. The three (3) entries with the next highest combined rankings will be declared First Prize Winners.
BREAKING TIES: Ties to determine Finalists selected by online voting, if any, will result in the PAMA panel selecting a sufficient number of tied entries to determine ten (10) total Voter Finalists. Ties to determine Finalists selected by the PAMA panel, if any, will be broken by re-judging the tied entries until ties are broken. Ties to determine Winners, if any, will be broken by tallying the combined recipe score with the photo expression of enthusiasm score, and the Entrant with the highest total will be declared the tie-breaker winner. If a highest total tie remains, those entries’ scores will be used to determine the tie-breaker winner in the following order: 1) uniqueness of recipe score + taste appeal of ingredient combination score, 2) total recipe score, 3) sum total of the taste appeal of ingredient combination score + photo originality of message score, 4) taste appeal of ingredient combination score only.
Judging to determine Finalists will occur between November 16 and December 15, 2009. Judging to determine Winners will occur between December 16, 2009 and January 15, 2010. The decisions of the Judges and Sponsor will be final and binding.
