Obama says McCain is avoiding discussing the economy. (CNN) – Barack Obama said Monday that John McCain is intentionally trying to avoid talking about the economic crisis because it would hurt the Republican nominee’s presidential campaign. As the stock market dropped even more on Monday afternoon and affected markets around the world, Obama criticized McCain for [...]

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PRESIDENT OBAMA Do not stoop to that other fellow tactics, continue to rise above him and be the gentleman he is not. If he is worried about Erles tell him to go to the Univ of Chicago and inquire why they allow him to be a board member,he can use any distraction he choose to,please make him stick to the issues. How can we continue to make our mortage payment, our 401K, and how we can finance our children college education. We can't afford $300,000.00 outfits, matter of fact we can't afford $3,000.00 outfits. If he is concerns about our economy ask him to tell his wife to sell some those outfits she prance around in and help the homless that his adminstation put there. NO MORE MUD SLINGING McSHAME

Of coarse McCain does not want to talk about the economy he has nothing effective to say, instead he will spend the rest of his time campaigning by negative attacks to try & destroy Obama, because that is who McCain is & that is what he does. McCain comes across to me as a liar, and someone not to trust. He is not the honorable man he claims to be,(keating 5, google it) he acts like he does not know what he is doing, he darts off in all directions, making exact opposite decisions every day.Obama handled the"bailout" very calmly & very Presidential. McCain is angry & frustrated & really doesn't know what he's doing. I am ready for the Change We Need. Obama /Biden 08-12

You know, I'm getting sick (SICK!!) of the John and Sarah traveling circus that his campaign is turning into. They are out there making a mockery of our political process specifically, and this land that is my Country in general, and it has to stop. This dredging up of old news Ayers and Wright, along with their continuous lies, and blaming everything that is wrong on Barack Obama is the worst gutter politics I've ever seen. ENOUGH, John and Sarah, ENOUGH!

Barack Obama is the only presidential candidate in this race who recognizes the importance of addressing the housing crisis from the bottom up. With McCain, every policy initiative happens at the top with hopes of the benefits trickling down. We all have seen how badly that works... Obama/Biden '08

I challenge all Americans to e-mail CNN and insist that our two presidential candidates debate on the issues that are important to all Americans at Tuesday Presidetial Debate. We don't want to sit and hear them debate about attacks on each others characters and listen to McCain use his scare tactics now that his numbers are going down in the polls. Stop this nonsense and lets get down to the real issues our country is facing. We wnat to know how they are going to help us with this economic crisis, the high cost of gas, fuel, and food. We want to know about our healthcare plans, taxes, and which President has the better plan to help the average American people. So I say to everyone, insist to both our candidates that we want to hear a debate on the issues our Country is facing and how they are going to help fix this crisis we are in, and they should not even be allowed to discuss anything else!

Sad that the only thing McCain and Palin can do now is try to figure out how to lie their way out of loosing this election. So far it hasn't worked. But then, thats how they have ran this whole campaign... I use to have great respect for McCain but now, he has changed from the great senator he use to be to a GREAT BIG LIER... SHAME ON YOU JOHN. I NOW KNOW YOU FOR WHAT YOU MUST HAVE ALWAYS BEEN.

Of course John McCain is ready to turn the page on the economy-he's not hurting like the rest of us! His wife wore a $300,000 outfit at the convention! He wears $500 shoes. He owns at least 7 homes, one with 14 bedrooms! He drives a fleet of cars! His wife owns a jet! It's because McCain is so out of touch with the average American that he doesn't care about the crisis at hand. Well, we do. Obama/Biden

repugs are desperate and nervous about the idea of a black president. I just saw a clip of a florida sheriff refer to Obama as Barack Hussein Obama , when introducing Palin at a Florida rally. The repugs claim to be the party of moral values and religious faith, but it as become the party of bigots and ignorance. The repugs prey on division and hatred in the name of patriotism. I pray nobody tries to harm Obama due to lies perputuated by the likes of Sean Hannity, Linbaugh, foxnews and the McCain campaign.

The Keating 5 scandle is not mud slinging. It is a fact. It is also pertainate to our current financial criisis as McSame is a well known advocate of deregulation and has major deregulation lobbists, like Davis and Gram advising his campaign. Mud slinging would be bringing up Cindi's treft of narcotics from her chariy due to her addiction. And as far as patroitism goes, Palin has given a presentation at her Husbands Separitist group that wants to cede from the US-as in treason!

Ex-Republican -- wow, dude/dudette, maybe decaf next time? I'm more sad than I am angry about the turn of events with McCain. At one point in time he really was the maverick that he likes to talk about on the campaign trail. If he had been that person again, it would have been a very different race to this point in terms of the level of discourse. This could have been a model campaign to hold up as an example of how two men can disagree with each other but not feel the need to discredit each other. Instead, we're getting a model election of how desperation can alter life-long held tenets of acceptable behavior. Tomorrow's debate should be interesting...

McCain-Palin are now desperate and panic. They will turn to anything they can find to attack Obama, even though they are old news and Obama had been clear. Does any idiot believe in this time and age, some terrorists are still on the loose that Obama can pal around with? If they are not in jail, they should sue Palin for discrediting their good name. Palin thinks she can do anything the ways she did in Alaska without any check and balance. Go back to Alaska to be the Dictator that your citizens so love. Palin is THE terrorist for wanting to secede from the USA then came running for Vice to destroy this nation!

McCain will do whatever he can to deflect attention from his own failings. He is 72 years old, not particularly well-educated, a life-long politician, an adulterer, friend to scoundrels domestic and foreign, married to a woman who stole from her own charity, filthy rich and unconcerned with regular Americans. In addition, he chose a right-wing nut-job for a running mate. Did I mention the nut-job isn't very smart or well-educated, either? He cannot properly discuss the economy because he's still catching up to the present! Just weeks ago, he thought the economy was "sound".

McCain is so desperate he is willing to shift the focus off the economy of which is knows nothing about, to mud slinging. All the garbage he is dredging up is old news. Let's talk about the Keating 5; Troopergate; Palin's witch hunter reverend; McCain's philandering past; proven lies throughout the campaign, etc. etc. etc. If he wants to fight dirty, he and Palin better be prepared to answer some questions about their own characters or lack of them. While I don't like swift boating, I do feel that Obama shouldn't take McCain and Palin's character attacks without fighting back. I do know, Obama will continue to focus on the ecomony. He is an intelligent, reflective, and thoughtful man which is who is needed given the complexities that are in being faced today. McCain doesn't understand these. Remember it was McCain that said the "fundamentals of the economy are sound" two/three weeks ago?!!!! Obama/Biden '08

the economy is hurting because of the war, spending money on exports that could be made here. rising price of oil because of war, and OPEC doesn't like the president because of their idealogies. Bush did protect the country at least give him that. but money now that is a different story, and it was the same with his father. America always needed balance but the rich are getting excessive. REALITY CHECK because what is the point to have FDIC if a dollar is worth a penny. America still got it but people need to play their role and get in their stations.

As you know, CNN makes available internet articles and then posts these on "tickers" that allow readers to comment. I strongly object to the following practices of CNN vis-a-vis- these tickers. Any pro-Obama comment (regardless how vile) is posted repeatedly by the same individual -- and this individual is allowed to post on any and all subsequent tickers. Conversely, any anti-Obama comment is rarely -- if ever -- posted. If it IS posted on one ticker -- and if the same individual attempts to post another comment -- the first comment is immediately removed. Additionally, if this individual attempts to post a comment on a different ticker -- NOT only is this comment NOT posted -- but the comment on a previous ticker is also immediately eliminated.

Just heard something interesting from Bill Schenider of CNN, 30% of Republicans think that McCain is going to lose. WOW........that's a significant number........ if 30% of Republicans believe that their candidate will lose, then why vote? Also, that 30% know, what those of us, Republicans, Independents and Democrats voting for OBAMA know.......... that's that, McCain IS out-of-touch-erratic-and-mean. I dreading tomorrow night's debate because I know that McCain will attack, he will be rude and dismissive towards. Sen. Obama. McCain, I believe is angry, very angry that this brilliant young man who happens to be African-American would come along and steal what is "rightfully" his. Just like Bush stole McCain's thunder in 2000! Perhaps McCain, needs to have a reality check, sometimes its not meant to be.
