Congrads to the Democrats. I guess the republicans will make many trips to the laundramat tonight with all the pants and panties they got in a mess. And on such an important vote I assume all republicans and democrats were present. But the might truthiness expert drudge said Nancy Pelosi had to sneak it in on a Saturday...tsk tsk tsk sour grapes sure shows.

If this bill gets passed the Senate, it will DESTROY the US economy. Not only is it unsustainable, but for the costs, it doesn't even improve the current system. Yes, more people can be covered, but will they? And why did the democrats ignore THE OTHER options THAT WERE on the tabelPelosi and Obama lead a group of idiotic ideologs. Worst government leaders....EVER.

Congratulations to our lovely Congress for a majority vote on yet another piece of legislation which the majority have not read which most aren't aware of what is in it but they were told by their party to vote for it so they did. As always our Congress knows best so even though the problems of healthcare could be attacked one piece of a time starting with fraud in Medicare and legal reform so that doctors don't perform unnecessary tests to cover their rear ends we instead are given a monstrosity of a bill. A big whose full effects won't be known until it is implementation and yet this vital piece of legislation which is so important won't be implemented until after the 2010 elections....

Well the little witch got what she wanted. But I can't believe she is too happy about the results. It doesn't look too good for it passing in the near future. It would be so great if she gets booted out next year. But with all the freaks in her district she most likely will get another term, but maybe she will be booted from the chair of the House. Can hope.

After big Pharma puppets (The Republican Party) spent hundreds of millions of dollars in their extreme frenzy of lobbying pressure to avoid losing a single dollar to their bottom lines, they ended up losing because the Republican Party is not a majority in the House, nor in the Senate, nor are they in the White House. Sadly and never mentioned nor covered by the News Media is the fact that Western Medical Practices increasingly add and heavily rely on multi-million dollar equipment for routine Western Medical practices. Hospitals and Physician Groups which invest and continue adding to and re-purchasing these mega million dollar medical equipment, have no way to lower their operating expenses short of bankruptcy. A top to bottom review of standard and routine western medical practices needs to be implemented if the public at large wish to begin seeing fair and reasonable medical expenses for average and routine medical procedures. Lacking that, a major shift by medical consumers away from western medical practitioners to eastern or alternative medical licensed practitioners would force a change. Any sizable loss of revenue by a Western Medical Hospital Group, or any Physician's Group would cause them to rethink their routine use of prohibitively expensive medical equipment for routine medical procedures. The Momentum is there. The American People are finally going to have health care reform, and the GOP said it couldn't be done. Now on to the Senate!

Obama said before, "I own GM," not we the American people own GM. Now thanks to selfish, we want it now, we want it "free" people, he owns us (for now). Haven't all of you noticed, the only time Obama uses the word "us" is when he wants something, and after he gets what he wants that he reverts back to "I"? Just because you "won" today does not mean you won't "lose" tomorrow, and I don't mean elections, I mean freedom.

AMEN and AMEN!! I watched and it was a GREAT moment in American history. The Democrats have brought relief and real hope to all of us who are being abused by the insurance industry. This is REAL reform and will help every American have quality healthcare and never be denied coverage or bankrupted from medical bills again. The Democratic healthcare bill was all about the PEOPLE. They get why they are in Congress and have delivered for us!

Well done Obama and Polosi. You have done what most Americans want you to do, not the extrem right wingnut and tea bagers. This victory is a blow to those who organized tea bagers to Capital Hill on Thursday for their own selfish interests. Americans have won and the haters have lost

Bit of clarification on that initial post regarding the rhetoric. This means you, America, left and right. We expect that from the politicians, they think it's expected of them. I mean you, my fellow American citizens. Let the politicians scream and yell at each other, that's part of what we pay them to do, but we, as citizens, were raised better. Don't stoop to a politician's level, folks, you know better.

Posted on 8 November 2009 , 12:05 am quote

To all Obama supporters: Congradulations. This is the beginning of the end of the United States as we know it. You people make me sick. Go out and get a freaking job. If you can't find one, you are not looking hard enough. Farming and agriculture are some jobs that are hiring right now. There are many imigrants from hispanic countries working in these industries, just to prove my point. Quit looking for a hand out. The American people do not owe you a living. We don't owe you free health care. We don't owe you anything. If any of you want free health care, or any of the other 'Government' help, move to Switzerland, where the government pays for everything except your car and gas. Pay the 80 percent income tax that the Sweds have to pay. Have the government micro-manage your life like they do the lives of the Swedish people. Do not bring that here. We, the Tax Paying Public, do not want it. If you are not happy with America, LEAVE!!!!!!!!!

CNN, are you breaking news or wind. It's epic fail if you misspell a 6-letter word in a 6 word headline. "House pases health care reform bill". Beyond that, its been over an hour since this was posted and I see no reader comments. I seriously doubt no one has had a thing to say, despite the late hour. I just came from Fox News, and you can bet that their followers are commenting. It's poor follow up on your part. And there are probably many like me who don't watch on the tv, so this just looks unprofessional. Closing that rant, I'm glad to see that reform is moving forward. It ain't what any of us want *exactly*, but then again, it doesn't look like anything close to what a final bill will anyway. I wish both sides of the American public could cool the rhetoric a bit. The name calling and threats don't do a thing to right the ship, and the instigators are perfectly happy with that. They profit most when we are adrift. Peaceful dreams all.

"It may pass out of the House tonight. We do realize that," Jenny Beth Martin, event organizer for the Tea Party Patriots, said. "But there is the Senate still. And we are going to leave no stone unturned and fight the government taking over our health care." This was a comment on another article here at CNN. Ideally, no I don't want the government taking over the insurance industry, but the insurance industry clearly can't get it right on its own, so obviously they need some help and if its the government that has to help them then so be it. My biggest problem with insurance is denying people coverage based on pre-existing conditions. That's B/S. Do they really think that people have any control or power over that?? The House version covers that and hopefully the Senate version will too. If the insurance companies would just get their heads out of their backsides and stop denying coverage in cases like this then it would be a lot less of a problem.

I think that the Demcrats just wanted to put a Win in Obamas column. This became all about winning and handing out awards at the end of the day. I voted Democrat but I and my daughter who will be 18 in 4 days will be voting Republican with me. This is not a football game and to shove the votes through with no regard for millions of people against this is just rotten goverment.

i just wonder how can we as a nation can afford to pay for health care reform, with tax payer dollars when there are no jobs. Where will tax dollars come from? the rich ? I somehow doubt that. When are we going to hear about jobs? It is my oppion that the government should be consontrating on job growth. I can't help but wonder where is the hell the governments head is. They clearly are not thinking about the poor.
