Pledge “rechargeables”

"I will buy rechargeable batteries instead of disposables whenever possible until the end of 2008 but only if 10 other people will do the same."

— Tim Waugh, battery-powered eco-warrior!

Deadline to sign up by: 30th November 2007
25 people signed up (15 over target)

More details
All batteries contain chemicals that are bad for the environment, and I feel bad every time I throw away a flat battery. I always intend to use rechargeable batteries next time, but never seem to actually get round to it; it always just seems easier to use disposables again.

I want to get into the habit of using rechargeable batteries: having enough of them to start with, remembering to charge them when needed, and choosing them instead of disposables whenever there is a choice.

If I really try throughout 2008 then perhaps it will stick for the future. Longer term, it is bound to save me money too!
