"when you say that the cleat placement is 'spot on' - this is likely not the case if you're feet are getting hot and sore. Try moving the cleat maybe 4-5mm back/foreward. If you do a lot of sprinting, you may find that having the ball of your foot infront of the axle works better but this seems to vary depending on spin style and preferred cadence, etc. Good luck. Shims might help too?? A."
