Heart disease and stroke are the first and third most prevalent causes of death in the United States.

Resolution

The American Heart Association is working towards a goal of reducing coronary heart disease, stroke, and overall risk by 25% in 2010. Efforts to reach this goal include educating the public in order to reduce the prevalence of smoking, high blood cholesterol and physical inactivity, as well as curb the growth of obesity and diabetes.
