For Sale:

Sony KDS-R50XBR1 50-inch rear-projection HDTV for $550.

Why? We're replacing this unit with a smaller LCD that fits our apartment better. I'm sad to see it go, but I don't want it sitting around unused.

Description: I bought the TV new from Vanns in Bozeman back in 2007 for about $3,000. It's a KDS-R50XBR1. I just replaced the lamp inside the television, meaning that it's good for about another 8,000-10,000 hours before the lamp needs replacing again. (These run about $175 and can be ordered through Vanns.)
The TV has a couple small issues. There's a slight yellowing discoloration in the top-right corner of the screen that tend to vary in intensity depending on how long you've had the TV on. It's really only noticeable when the TV is displaying a white or light-colored background. Also, the pair of HDMI ports on the back of the TV have stopped working. I've been using component video to hook up our HD cable and Blu-Ray and it's looked pretty darn good.
You can read the details about the TV online in a number of places. Just do a search for the model number. I'd prefer to deal locally, and you will have to provide a truck to haul it off. The thing weighs about 94 pounds and needs two people to carry it.
It's been a great TV for us, and I hope it can be great for someone else too.
