1992 Buick Riviera - Winter Car.

Why? 1992 Buick Riviera maroon with cream leather interior 230K miles $500 Leather interior - electronic dashboard - automatic on floor High mileage, no rust, runs well and starts in even the coldest of weather. The catalytic converter is not attached to the muffler pipe = loud pipes. I have driven this car for over 3 years, replaced tires on it 2 1/2 years ago with brand new tires for those MN winter roads! I have put mostly highway miles on it, not a whole lot of in-town driving. I replaced the shocks when I got the car and brakes were replaced last year. Water pump was replaced 1 1/2 years ago and battery was new last year as well. Some electrical issues that do not affect the driveability of the car - power locks do not work (manual is fine); power seats, and power driver's side window (passenger's works fine) - I have the electrical map to get it squared away, but I think its basically something like a short in the driver's side door or some relay fuse for all I know. I bought it with these same issues and I never bothered to fix them - still got me far on long road trips (even to Nebraska!) If interested please call my cell: 651-334-2079 my name is Lauren.

How many miles are on it, how many miles does it get to the gallon, what is the $100 repair that needs to be made, what kind of an engine does it have (v4, v6, etc), what sort of maintenance work did you do regularily while you drove it, what sort of major problems did it have while you drove it (transmission, carburator, brakes, battery, alternator, leaks in the fuel line, etc) and please describe what happened. Would you be willing to have me and a mechanic-type come out and take a look? I am interested but it sounds well-used and like it could fall apart at any time soon. I would need to have it looked at, and if you're willing to take the price down, considering its need for repairs, its age, and its high mileage, I might be interested. I would make my price-offer decision based on what the mechanic-friend suggested. My name is Katie Tomek

230K miles, current MPG is low due to the repair needed, prior to that it was getting about 23 MPG - the repair that needs to be done is for the catalytic converter to be reattached to the muffler pipes - a welder is needed to just cut it out and reattach. It is a 3.3L V6 and I brought it in for oil changes every 3K miles and completed a tune up each summer on my own. I have replaced the battery, water pump, O2 sensor, brakes, struts/shocks in front, and tires were new about 2 years ago. No rust on the car, strong engine and transmission with no problems. I would be open to have you come look at it, just give me a call and let me know what time would work best for you. Thanks for checking out my ad!
