For Sale:

Young female grayish tortoiseshell cat needs a forever home for $50.

Why? This little kitty was a stray that always wandered near my work in the ghetto of Milwaukee, hungry and collarless. I'd give her two cans of cat food and she'd still look up at me, wanting more. I've taken her into my home temporarily, but I can't have any more cats. All of the no-kill shelters in the area are full, and I don't want to risk putting her in a regular humane society... I have two male cats right now, and they don't get along too well with her. Not sure who's the instigator of the scuffles. She'd probably do well in an only cat home, or with another submissive cat. She's quite the queen bee, but also a lover.

Description: She's SUPER SWEET and purrs all the time. She loves petting, and can tolerate being picked up but doesn't like it too much. She's probably 1-2 years old, but still plays like a kitten. She can spend a half hour chasing a laser or a toy mouse. She sleeps right next to me, or curled up by my feet. She's very people-oriented, and always wants attention. She's a bit of a talker, but not to an annoying degree. Just like she's telling you things. :)

I don't think she is spayed, so here's the deal. You come meet her and decide you want her. I'll go and have her spayed, and all you have to do is pay the vet bill for the spaying in order to take her home. That's the re-homing fee -- the spaying vet bill, however much that is. If you have a preference for a vet, that's fine -- she can go there. There is a low-cost clinic I can have her spayed at for $50, though I am looking into other low-cost options as well.

Have you contacted Second Hand Purrs?

A Facebook user commentedat 03:01 PM on November 6, 2009

Yup, they said they're not accepting any new cats for 8 months to a year. The only place that might be an option if they adopt out some cats is Happy Endings, in Milwaukee. If I did get her in there, though... it'd take forever for her to get a home, because I don't think anyone really knows of the place.

Oh, that's too bad! She's really quite pretty! I'd think about taking her, but I already have a cat and am not sure how well they'd get along. I'll keep my ears open!
