Renting:

2BR, St. Mark's Place, RECESSION PRICE for $2,095.

Why? We're the current tenants at this fantastic little E. Village 2br. We're graduating and moving uptown and looking for someone to take over our lease (which is up in July), at which point you can certainly renegotiate your rent.
Price: $2,095
Category: Housing : For Rent - Apartments
Posted: in New York, NY
Bedrooms: 2 BR
Description: AVAILABLE DEC. 1
One of the bedrooms is among the largest I've ever seen in the area. It has a fire escape (great to hang out on) and an ample sized closet, as well as a huge amount of built-in shelving. In the room, there's a full-sized bed, mattress, bedside table, bookshelves, wall shelves, and a table and two chairs that we'll leave for you if you'd like them. The other bedroom is a bit smaller, though can still accommodate a full-sized bed and has a good-sized closet. There is a dresser in there that we'll leave for you if you'd like it.
The living room has a sofa and entertainment unit, which we're offering for free with the apartment, as well as a flat-screen TV that we're willing to negotiate a fair price on.
The kitchen has a dishwasher (uncommon in this location at this price point), gas stove, oven (big enough to roast a turkey in, I've done it!) and built-in microwave, and we've never had any problems with pests in the apartment (also uncommon in a historic building in this area).
The bathroom is all marble and mirrors (which is great for doing your hair!) and we've never had any problems with the hot water.
Most of all, though, the spectacular thing about this place is the location. St. Mark's place is the most historically important and liveliest street in the E. Village and there are a million restaurants and bars within a stone's throw of this apartment. That being said, since you're in the back of the building, you don't have to endure all sorts of noise all the time. You're also a block away from Tompkins Square Park and it's weekend farmer's market!
