5+ yrs development experience in core Java, Swing, J2EE, JMS
• 4 year a Bachelors technical degree with strong computer science fundamentals
• Proven experience of the full lifecycle of software development and delivery
• Experience of working in a first or second line support environment
• Experience with version control systems such as Subversion and frame works such as Spring, Quartz etc.
• Experience of multiple system integration projects
• Experience with database development on SQL Server or Oracle
• Comfortable working in high pressure environment and sometimes have to provide quick turnaround in couple of hours.
• Excellent organization and issue tracking skills using JIRA.
• Works to deadlines
• Self-motivated and proactive and organized
Desirable:
• Experience with maven, spring, Spring MVC and weblogic are a major plus.
• Experience with security - digital certificates is a plus
• C# and/or C++ experience is a plus
• Any experience developing front-office applications using Java Swing for an investment bank or commodity trading organization.
• Experience of scripting languages such as Perl, general Unix shell scripting is a plus
• Familiarity with Maven, Ant and weblogic is a plus
• Past experience working in energy trading industry is a strong plus.
This role is expected to provide trading support to traders/analysts during trading hours by supporting strategic analytical applications from 6:30am – 3:30pm CST at least one week per month and should be willing to be available on a rotation basis within the team.
