Looking for the Right Candidate:

Logo Submissions for Non-profit Group.

Why? Currently looking for a new logo for our organization, Okanagan Pride. Please see description for more information

Description: The Okanagan Pride Committee is issuing a call for submissions for a new logo.
** Please forward to anyone you think may be interested in submitting a logo***

The logo submission would include three parts:
(a) a new "Okanagan Pride" Logo
(b) a flexible variation of that new "Okanagan Pride" logo that will allow us to change the year on the logo.
(c) incorporation of the rainbow flag colours in the logo. This does not mean that there has to be an actual rainbow in it though just include the colors. Choice is yours.
Optional:
- There may be a description or meaning behind the logo, this can be included as part of the submission. (be creative)

Rules and regulations behind the logo creation:
1. The logo must be built in illustrator or in photoshop (300dpi, at least 11x8.5 inches).
2. Logo may be submitted by an individual, group, or business.
3. Each individual, group, or business may submit up to three separate logos for review.
4. Submissions are due by Friday November 20th 2009 at 6pm (PST), by email to dustyn@okanaganpride.com. No late submissions accepted.
5. Submissions for judging are to be sent via email in high quality PDF, JPEG, or other easily readable format on MAC and PC. If logo is unviewable, there will be one email sent to notify with 12 hours of receiving the copy. ***corrected copy MUST be received by due date. (November 20th 2009 @ 6PM PST)
6. Okanagan Pride Committee Executive will decide on top 5 logos from entire collection received.
7. Okanagan Pride Committee members will select from top 5 choices at the November 22, 2009 Pride Meeting by secret ballot. They will have no knowledge of who the submissions are done by.
8. If any committee member submits a logo, they will not be entitled to vote on the logo submissions and will be requested to leave the room during the voting period due to a potential conflict of interest.
9. Any and all logos may be rejected by committee if they are deemed unsuitable (this would be determined by a unanimous vote of present committee members).
10. Chosen Logo to be announced via email and Okanagan Rainbow Coalition Facebook page (join group page here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7930880987&ref=ts) by 5 pm on Monday November 23rd, 2009
11. Okanagan Pride will use the chosen logo for Okanagan Pride 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 in any form that they deem necessary. The creator(s) of the chosen logo will have full rights to advertise on their own medium that they created this logo from the time the chosen logo is announced until the conclusion of Okanagan Pride 2014. Okanagan Pride will mention on our website (www.okanaganpride.com - will be updated soon!) and during Pride launches who the creator(s) on the chosen logo is.
12. All entries may be kept in Pride archives for reference purposes only, and will not be distributed out in any form after the Committee has chosen a logo.
13. Logo creation is open to any resident or business located in Canada.

The prize? A pair of tickets to every Pride 2010 event, this includes all lead up events (to be announced). (If you're a team, figure out how its split up!)

Side note about Okanagan Rainbow Coalition (ORC) Affiliation:
We, as the Okanagan Pride Committee, do realize that we are a subcommittee of the ORC. However, to have our Pride branded as "ORC PRIDE" does not make marketing sense. Specifically when we are trying to make this a destination event. No one, outside of the local LGBT community have much of an idea as to what or who the ORC is.
We need to show in our logo (by using Okanagan vs ORC) the area that this pride is serving.

***Having said this, all promotion material and our website will state that we are affiliated with/subcommittee of the Okanagan Rainbow Coalition.***
