| Description: | Account Executive- SLG- DC-LEX001N8 Job Description: This field sales new business role exists to grow revenue through the sale of LexisNexis products to non-subscribers in State & Local Govt markets and must meet or exceed objectives in the areas of incremental sales revenue, customer satisfaction and market penetration. This position will be required to travel 75% Accountabilities include: 1. Gain new business contracts and maintain existing business relationships. 2. Initiate contact and communication with potential clients. 3. Solicit feedback from potential clients regarding their needs and changing business environment. 4. Provide feedback regarding active and potential client needs to Executive Management. 5. Demonstrate to and educate potential clients on products and services. 6. Create groundwork for establishing Company/Client relationship. 7. Monitor designated client relationships and follow-up on outstanding issues. 8. Assist Company in tradeshows, marketing/distribution-partner events. 9. Perform work in accordance with the business marketing strategy. Qualifications: 1. 7 + years of direct sales experience selling software based solutions. 2. Prior sales experience in the legal industry especially working with corporate legal department. 3. Excellent presentation and demonstration skills with the ability to lead business product discussions regarding the value of legal spend management solutions. 4. Excellent ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with key potential customer(s). 5. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with C - level executives and their direct reports. 6. Good working knowledge of key business drivers impacting C- level decision makers. 7. Ability to maintain long sales cycles lasting 1 year or more. 8. Understanding and expertise in computer hardware and software including WindowsXP, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Contact Management systems, Sales Force Automation Tools, CRM (Siebel 7.8) and the internet. 9. Proven knowledge and experience using strategic selling (Miller Heiman). 10. Experience working in a highly complex matrixed corporate environment. 11. Proven knowledge and understanding of value selling and team selling concepts. 12. Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills 13. Strong time management, organizational and forecasting skills.13. Strong new business prospecting skills.
