Description: Job Description:
The Account Executive - Intellectual Products and Services is the LexisNexis expert in Intellectual Property (IP) research tools, workflow products and related services. The Account Executive - IP leverages this expertise to convey credibility, meaningfully assess customer needs and promote the portfolio of uniquely differentiated solutions in a targeted and highly professional manner. This is a field sales position that will cover the South Central region of the U.S. This person will work from a virtual office.
Qualifications:
1. 7-10 years of outside business to business sales experience preferably in the intellectual property industry. Candidate will need to have knowledge of the Intellectual Property (IP) market and the patent process. Previous experience and knowledge of IP workflow is highly desired.
2. At least 5-10 years of "hunting" and "cold calling" sales experience.
3. Ability to hit the ground running very quickly with new products and services in a competitive market.
4. Proven ability to sell complex products to new customer prospects.
5. Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills.
6. Strong leadership and team-building skills
7. Ability to network effectively both internally and externally.
8. Experience in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a plus.
9. Experience working as a patent attorney, within a patent law firm, or within a corporate legal department dealing with patents is a plus.
10. Ability to lift or carry laptop and sales collateral of approximately 20 lbs.
