Description: I’m considering selling the bike because I will be graduating from MSU in the Spring and am worried that it will be hard for me to move around as I begin looking for a job and possibly relocate numerous times in the next few years. I have loved this bike and taken excellent care of it. I purchased it a year ago with 7500 miles on it and it now has 8800. There was extensive work done on the bike by Chad, its previous owner.
The work done by Chad less than a year ago is as follows: he rebuilt both petcocks, performed a complete brake line and master flush (brakes are great), put new header gaskets on, new bars, new grips, rebuilt the front forks with new seals and oil. The starter clutch was also rebuilt. A complete carb overhaul was performed with new kits and stock settings, the carbs have been balanced (sync). The cam chain was also adjusted. Tank and side covers have been repainted and look real nice. Stock fuse block has been replaced with aftermarket fuses.
The bike is not all original I have noticed and I have added a couple of things to it like new chrome mirrors (the old ones were looking pretty bad but I still have them), pod air filters in place of the stock air box which I also still have, new fuel lines with in line filters, mounted chrome crank case breather with hose, a new battery, and new tires as of the purchase of the bike. The bike has some minor blemishes on the underside of the exhaust from the previous owner but is hardly noticeable. I used a product to clean/de-rust the inside of the tank when I bought the bike and it is completely rust free but not sealed. There is an extremely slow leak in the front right fork and the kick-start does not currently work but the electric start works like a charm every time. The electrical behind the headlamp was gone through by my dad and I, but to be honest I'm not real sure what the hell is going on behind there. Currently the dash lights and the headlamp are switched on with the high beam switch, which works just fine, but there is no longer a high beam. The turn signals all work great. The chrome on the bike is pretty gorgeous for its age and I put a lot of time into polishing up the engine to get a lot more shine out of it. The bike runs incredibly and I have changed the oil twice since I have gotten it, plus it was fresh upon delivery to me. The carbs were gone through multiple times by me for an issue that I finally found to be a pinhole in my left float. They were cleaned many times during that frustrating time haha. I’m not real excited to get rid of the bike but I feel like I should probably start thinking about it. Hopefully there is someone out there who will love this bike as much as I have and be willing to put the last little bit of effort into it to make it flawless. Please feel free to email me for more pictures of the bike as the one provided is a year old. I’m asking 2500 for the bike at this point but please feel free to make me a reasonable offer if you are seriously interested in acquiring one of these fantastic machines. Thank you, Ryan
