| Description: | The Business Development Representative I is responsible for soliciting and signing new business (customers that do not currently have a relationship) for Global Payments. The Business Development Representative is also required to gain proficiency and be very knowledgeable about all Global Payments products and services and to sell with professionalism and integrity. Role (In Order of Importance) • Build portfolio to meet monthly, rolling-3 and annual quotas for discount revenue, fee revenue, and equipment revenue • Maintain targeted spread or profit margin on services • Develop and close new business opportunities with smaller and larger merchants • Develop / maintain a strong prospect pipeline in Oracle OnDemand • Sell Check Services • Learn and practice the Sandler Selling method • Sign a minimum of 10 deals every month • Enter a minimum of 25 new opportunities in Oracle on Demand every week • Maintain targeted activation rates for new business signings >75% • Make a minimum of 50 outbound calls a day outside the auto dialer (or more as required to meet and/or exceed objectives) • Maintain a minimum of five (5) hours a week on the auto dialer system • Initiate contact on all leads especially prioritized leads (corporate website, referral partners, association and other campaign leads and opportunities in Oracle OnDemand) immediately or at least within an hour of receipt • Consistently track (enter and update) all bank, referral partners, association and campaign leads in Oracle OnDemand • Adhere to all company values and policies • Maintain a strong attendance record < 3 occurrences in any six-month timeframe • Other functions as described Bachelor's degree preferred • 1+ years experience in sales preferred • Excellent communication and writing skills to match customer needs with company products and deliver customized proposals • Travel within the area may be required • Field work may be required • Strong knowledge of company products and services to provide the right solution to the customer • Technical understanding of the industry and our business • Strong sales ability to close deals • Presentation skills to effectively manage relationships • Computer skills - Word, PPT and Excel • Willingness to take ownership for own work to continuously improve performance |
