Reporting to the Director of Human Resources we are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the national HR department in our Toronto office. This exciting and challenging role is ideal for generalists with experience in employee relations, employment legislation, policy and program development, health and safety and compensation. Primary Duties and Responsibilities : ▪ Provide day-to-day coaching & guidance to all levels of management and to employees, providing support and counsel on a broad variety of HR issues ▪ Provide support and guidance to the Management team relating to conflict resolution and terminations while following HR best practices, current company policy and employment legislation ▪ Advise and support Management client groups in regards to performance management, application of policies, employee relations, HRIS and resolving issues with positive solutions and results ▪ Conduct investigations relating to employee complaints, employee conflicts, performance and/or attendance issues and implement appropriate corrective actions ▪ Monitor and research compliance and/or changes to all Federal and Provincial legislation, identifying changes that will affect the business ▪ Contribute to the development of added value processes with respect to enhanced HR processes and efficiencies. ▪ Maintain accurate and on-going employee records and documentation. ▪ Create and support policy and HR program, development, implementation and analysis ▪ Provide support to the Human Resources Director as required including special projects. ▪ Support the administration of the benefits program while advising employees on the interpretation of benefit policies and procedures ▪ Liaise with the benefits insurance provider and/or broker(s) ▪ Work in collaboration with the HR and Payroll departments to ensure timely accurate payment to employees, while seeking continuous improvement opportunities ▪ Provide ongoing leadership and support of the Oracle system. Testing and implementing upgrades, and efficiency procedures and training. ▪ Responsible for the daily benefits administration LTD & WSIB/WCB claims management and facilitating an early and safe return to work program ▪ Establish and promote a safe and healthy working environment; recommending measures to reduce and/or eliminate workplace injuries ▪ Liaise with client services groups, Home Office and HR team to support departmental and strategic objectives. Experience and Education Required: ▪ Post-secondary (undergraduate) degree or diploma in combined with 3+ years of HR generalist experience ▪ Previous experience coaching and supporting Employee Relations to the senior management team ▪ Experience with HRIS systems – Oracle specific experience an asset. ▪ Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legal practices and employment legislation ▪ Strong knowledge of employment legislation (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards, H&S, WSIB/WCB/CSST) ▪ Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact on a daily basis with employees, managers and executives from various departments, with ability to quickly build strong relationships ▪ Demonstrated coaching, facilitation, problem-solving and influencing skills ▪ Proven ability to work independently in a fast paced environment ▪ Proven computer skills (Microsoft office) ▪ Bilingual French/English a definite Asset Come join our exciting team!
