| Description: | The Harvard Common Press, a publisher of high-quality books in cooking, childbirth, and parenting, seeks an energetic and motivated business assistant/office manager to join our staff of twelve. Duties include: managing ordering and fulfillment processes; functioning as primary customer service contact; managing accounts receivable and accounts payable; inputting contract details; assisting the publisher; and assuming office duties to ensure the smooth operation of the Press as a whole. A first-rate command of the English language, superior organizational skills, Macintosh computer experience, and excellent telephone skills are essential. Publishing or bookstore experience is helpful but not necessary. If you are able to assume a variety of hands-on responsibilities and enjoy working independently, we would like to hear from you.
