Youth Mentor/Non-profit.

Why? I currently serve as a Team Leader for Americorps NCCC. The National Civilian Community Corps is a federally funded community service organization that seeks to empower 18-24 yr olds through service for 10 months across the 50 United States and territories. We are typically assigned to a location for 6-8 weeks. The Atlantic region campus serves mainly on the East Coast, but we have served in the Gulf Coast due to the massive amount of work still required to rebuild after Katrina. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to: leading/mentoring 8 individuals, managing over $50K of Government assests, policy enforcement, and project management/quality control for the projects in which we serve. I am a flexible individual with a broad perspective on life and service. I seek to empower those around me to do good. I am quick to learn a new skill and am not afraid to make a mistake. I am organized and focused on getting the most effective and sustainable result. I am a hardworker and I know how to have a good time while I do it. I am a positive individual and a realist. I am open to a number of job opportunities, as long as I still have the opportunity to seek out educational opportunities in conjunction with my work.
