Description: GENERAL SUMMARY: Prepares and promotes a variety of vendor products, providing store customers information and samples of product for the purpose of providing fun and excitement in promoting sales. Creatively displays product and explains features and answers customer questions with enthusiasm. Throughout work shift is approachable and friendly and is continuously engaged in talking to customers about the vendors products and the Department in which you are assigned..

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Positively engages customers to promote and increase sales of the assigned department and vendor products.
• Enthusiastically talks to the Meijer customers continuously about all of the products by mentioning vendors’ names, catch phrases, and key selling points for each product; stressing how they complement each other.
• Maintains a friendly positive image, attitude and appearance by smiling, making eye contact, and approaching all guests.
• Uses voice projection, storytelling, “acting”, etc. to create a crowd around the Event Cart when necessary and draw people in.
• Prepares a unique and exciting presentation for each Sales Event utilizing vendor products; instructions on the Demonstration Product Information Sheet (DPIS); special instructions; and/or company intranet.
• May be asked to complete necessary testing on weekly and special selling programs to ensure a thorough understanding of the proper presentation and message for Sales Events.
• Responsible for complete set up and organization of the assigned Event including obtaining all product and supplies needed and using appropriate signage.
• Is on the sales floor on time in order to promote and sell the products.
• Maintains a professional, clean cart and healthy, safe work environment and adheres to all Food Safety Handling and Sanitation training and guidelines
• Adheres to proper dress code; neat appearance and good grooming.
• Remains open, receptive, and flexible to various training efforts including product preparation, Sales Event presentation, store rules, and sales training.
• Provides daily, accurate, timely reporting of time worked, sales results & meaningful guest comments
• Responsible for station shutdown; including cleaning/ sanitizing equipment, washing/drying dishes
• Proactively assists Meijer customers with product information or general help in the store building.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires ability to interpret and follow written; visual; and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to multi-task and use good judgment in making decisions when interpreting available information.
• Must be able to learn/understand sales points and product information on multiple items in a short time frame and be able to accurately disseminate that information to customers.
• Must be able to stand and or walk during the duration of shift including; performing routine tasks with a minimum of supervision, and with or without accommodation.
• Requires bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, twisting, grasping, pushing and pulling.
• Part-time schedule. Must be able to work flexible days and hours to include work availability for weekends.
• May require ability to work in various store locations in a highly adaptable manner with no reduction in the quality of the Sales Event.
• Excellent oral communication skills; good command of the English language and strong voice volume.
• Must be outgoing and willing to actively approach any and all Meijer customers.
• Internet access and ability to use common commands for navigation and retrieving information preferred.
• Required to pass Elite’s Food Safety Certification.
• Prior sales and cooking experience preferred.
