| Description: | An extremely rare Thomas Humphrey Pre-Millennium classical guitar. Authenticated by Thomas Humphrey himself before he passed away. He had examined it and certified it to be in wonderful shape. Humphrey had adjusted the action with a new bone nut. * 640mm, very easy to play, sweet sounding * French polish top, back and sides * Excellent Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (no cracks) * Cedar top (has some repair work done by Luthier Bozo Podunavac, you can check his website he has this same Humphrey listed as part of his repair work resume). * Solid Silver hand engraved tuners (Its been mentioned they are Rodgers; need to verify) * Very nice floral rosette, the mosaics are very fine Cosmetically, it has a few dings and nicks on the top. Its a french polish top which can be refinished if desired. It has a few cracks on the lower bout of the top that have been repaired by an expert luthier. Mr. Humphrey examined the work and said it was well done. The guitar is gorgeously resonant, materials are choice select, and the craftmenship is wonderful. This guitar has a very warm, intimate sound, and the trebles are very nice, crisp and clear. Amazing timbre and tone. This was played at the the Mannes Guitar seminar and everyone raved about it and how it sounded. It got lots of ooos and ahs! It comes with a HumiCase Protégé hard case along with the Humicase Humidification Kit Thomas Humphrey was one of the greatest luthiers of all time. An opportunity to own one of his instruments is an extremely rare find. |
