Marketplace lets you sell, give away, buy, ask or search for anything you want a in a trusted and fun environment. You can also use Marketplace to see what your friends are buying and selling. Help keep Marketplace clean and useful by reporting any inappropriate content you see.

How much does it cost to list something?

All Facebook users can post their listings free of charge.

How do I post a listing?

On the main page of Marketplace or on the listings page, select what type of a listing you want to post by selecting one of the four tabs (Sell it, Give it away, and Ask for it), and start typing into the box that is located near the top of the page. From there, you will be able to select the category that best fits your listing, enter your location, describe it and add more pictures.

What are the different types of listings?

"Sell it" is for listing items that you want to sell. "Give it Away" is for listing items that you want to give away for free, and "Ask for it" is for posting a listing about what you are looking for (a "want ad").

Who will be able to see my listing?

By default, your listing will be viewable to any user on Marketplace. Remember, just because someone can see your listing doesn't mean they can see your profile information - that is influenced by your main privacy settings.

Can people who do not use Facebook see my listings?

Yes, but they have to sign in to Facebook in order to respond to you.

Do I need to include a photo?

No, photos are not required. They are, however, recommended.

How do I view my listings?

Within Marketplace, select "My Listings" from the top of the page. This will take you to a view of all of your listings, which will allow you to easily edit, republish or close your listings.

How do I edit a listing?

From the "My Listings" page, click "Edit" by the listing you would like to modify. This will allow you to edit your listing.

How do I close a listing?

From the "My Listings" page, click "Close my listing" by the listing you would like to delete.

Can I delete a listing?

No. In order to create a safe and trusted marketplace, the history of everyone's posted listings is accessible.

How do I search?

To search by keyword, go to the "search" page by clicking on the "search" link near the top of any page, enter a search term in the search field in the left column, and press enter. After that, you can select a category as well as other criteria in the left column.

How do I browse?

From the main Marketplace page, click on any category in the "Browse" box. From the search page, click on any category link in the left column.

Where are housing, job, and service listings?

The new Marketplace supports only merchandise and car listings. We will be adding more categories very soon though.

How do I respond to a listing?

You can contact the owner of the listing by clicking on the "Contact" button right underneath the owner's picture. Or, you can write on the listing's wall and the owner will be notified.

When should a listing be reported?

A listing should be reported whenever you believe it to be spam, miscategorized, nudity or pornography, drug-related, threatening to a group or individual, violent, obscene, or if it contains copyrighted material. How do I report a listing?

You can report a listing by selecting "Report" on any listing (on the search page, first click on "Options" and then "Report"). Once you select "Report," a pop-up window will appear asking for more information. All reports are confidential.

What happens after I report a listing?

After you report a listing, it will be removed from your view. Your report will be reviewed by our customer support team, and they will take the appropriate action. All reports are confidential.
