there's a philosopher I once met
he showed me many things
he told me things of the world
his face was unusual-
but it could tell a story-- with rich
detail...in rich detail

sometimes eating
sometimes eyes closed
there was always the face
of his knowledge of things
he never spoke--
he needed not to

he sits in a zoo in North America
has no other in his habitat
he's originally from west Africa
