About Sponsor me UK by Justgiving
Since 2001, we’ve helped people raise over £150m for UK charities. That’s over three million people and 300,000 fundraising pages to date.
We make it easy to donate and raise funds for the charities that matter to you. It used to be a hassle. Lots of fussing around with cheques and envelopes and paper sponsorship forms. But not now.
Anyone can create a fundraising page on Justgiving to collect donations in support of any sponsored event or appeal; whether you’re running a marathon, launching a personal appeal, collecting donations instead of birthday presents or doing absolutely nothing.
Thousands of Justgiving users are already using Facebook to publicise their pages, so we thought it would be nice to make an app for them. It’s just one more way to make fundraising easier and more efficient than ever before.
So how does it work?
If you already have a fundraising page on Justgiving, then all you have to do is enter your page address when prompted. You’ll see a running total on your profile and your friends will be able to sponsor you from there. You can promote your friends’ pages as well as your own.
Donations are processed in real-time and we automatically reclaim Gift Aid on all donations made by UK taxpayers. We accept credit cards from anywhere in the world.
Who are Justgiving?
We’re a team of 40 people based in Central London, UK. We began life in the UK in 2001 and have a sister company called Firstgiving, in Boston, USA. They do what we do for US 501(c)(3) non-profits.
We’re a mix of developers, designers and helpful people who look after our users and charities. Find out more on our website or visit the Justgiving group to learn more.
Our Facebook app was built by Rich, Matt, Dennis, everything else was done by Simon, Elizabeth, Kai, Caroline and tested by all the Facebook addicts in the London office.
