“Most sports films are just about the sports. This one is about more than that” — Daniel Frutos, screenwriter
LOGLINE: After crashing out during a halfpipe contest, a brash pro snowboarder struggles to regain his “King of The Mountain” status.
Cold Stoke is a sports drama that goes beyond your typical sports film. One way to describe the film would be as a “BLUE CRUSH with snowboarders.” The film is being written and directed by someone who actually snowboards and knows the lifestyle of the sport; giving the movie a raw, real, and gritty look into the characters’ lives.
Things are starting to happen on the film. The script is ready to go, storyboards have been started; we will be doing our first location scouting excursion this September so we are ready to start seeking funding and really get the ball rolling on making the movie.
The film has an expected budget of about $1 million (budget has not been finalized yet) and is planning to be shot in HD on location in Aspen, Colorado starting in JANUARY 2010. We hope to cast young up and coming actors that aren’t particularly well-known yet in the principal roles.
The plan is to get the movie made and then screen the finished film at film festivals and to get the movie out any way we can (in theaters, DVDs, whatever it takes!)
We know that we’ve got a great project here. This film could be to snowboarding what BLUE CRUSH is to surfing and LORDS OF DOGTOWN is to skateboarding; but, because we are an independent film not backed by a Hollywood studio, to make the movie we need your help. Please contribute what you can. Every dollar counts. Check out our media for the film, then decide for yourself if this is a film worth investing in. — Thank you! Transfer Productions
