To celebrate the release of their new album in the UK today Coldplay have several BBC radio interviews which you can listen to online.

First up, is an appearance on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show from 12noon today.

Then, it's over to Radio 2 to appear on Steve Wright's show, from 2pm.

After that, the band will be on Radio 4's Front Row programme from 7.15pm tonight.

Lastly, the band are on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6 Music show tomorrow from 4pm.

Brixton and MSG contests open via Coldplay.com


As previously announced, Coldplay are playing two free shows in June, at London's Brixton Academy on June 16 and at New York's Madison Square Garden on June 23. The competitions to win tickets for both gigs have now opened on Coldplay.com. One lucky winner for the NYC show will also win flights from wherever they live, plus hotel accommodation. Plus, by entering either competition, you'll help to unveil exclusive Coldplay videos and artwork.


US tour announced


This morning, Coldplay revealed details of a 34-date North American tour, with shows spread across the US and Canada between June and November. Click here to check out the full list of shows - with on sale dates and ticket links - at the official site.


iTunes pre-order


As of this week, you can pre-order Coldplay's new album, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, from iTunes Stores worldwide. This will also entitle you to two free bonus tracks, the acoustic versions of Lost and Lovers In Japan. What's more, you'll be able to download the album's title track, Viva La Vida, immediately.


Free 7-inch with this week's NME


The current issue of the NME magazine comes with a free 7-inch of Violet Hill, backed by the exclusive B-side A Spell A Rebel Yell. This is the only physical release of the track. Head over to nme.com to hear a 30-second clip of the B-side and to order your copy of the magazine, which also features an exclusive interview with Chris and Jonny.

Coldplay.com to give away new single

We're very pleased to announce that Coldplay's new single, Violet Hill, will be available as a free download exclusively from
Coldplay.com for one week starting tomorrow, Tuesday April 29th, at 12.15pm UK time. This is a full week ahead of the single's conventional paid-for digital release, on Tuesday May 6th.

Then, on Wednesday May 7th, there will be a free limited edition
7-inch vinyl of 'Violet Hill' on the cover of NME magazine, backed by the exclusive B-side, 'A Spell A Rebel Yell'. You can pre-order the issue by clicking here.

Free gigs in London and New York
