Annie Lennox - new album...coming soon
3:40am on July 3, 2008

Post Annie Lennox's moving appearance at the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Concert in London's Hyde Park, Annie is returning to the studio to work on her first new material since the critically acclaimed fourth solo album Songs Of Mass Destruction in 2007. This new material will be released later in the year through RCA Label Group / SonyBMG, with whom Annie has had a successful relationship for her whole career.

In a career that has spanned over 26 years, including the 16 years since Annie released her first solo album, Diva, no other British female artist has achieved so much. Over 78 million sales across the globe, and 34 hit singles compliment the 4 Grammies, 11 BRITS, 5 Ivor Novellos, an Oscar, and the 2 Golden Globes amongst other musical accolades.

Annie Lennox has recently received the Red Cross Services to Humanity Award and was the recipient of the 2008 Glamour Inspirational Woman of the Year. The awards were in recognition of Annie Lennox's efforts to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS through music, video and campaigning throughout her career and the worldwide acclaimed SING campaign - (www.annielennoxsing.com). Annie has focused her humanitarian efforts using all media available, including the internet in an initiative Annie defines as Laptop Activism. Annie's own website, the centre of these activities, won a prestigious 2008 Webby Award recognised as the Oscars of the internet (www.webbyawards.com).
