Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jewel will be hitting the road in January 2009 for a solo acoustic headlining tour. The three-time Grammy nominee recently released her first country album and seventh career album, Perfectly Clear, in June 2008 which debuted at 1 on the Billboard country charts. Supporting her career launch into the country music mainstay, Jewel had quite a busy year in 2008. With numerous visits to country radio stations across the US, Jewel's Top 15 country breakthrough single "Stronger Woman" posted more than 50,000 spins and earned the singer-songwriter a BDS Spin Award. Jewel also packed in a summer and fall tour with Brad Paisley, a judging seat on NBC's "Nashville Star" and was married to rodeo superstar Ty Murray in a private beach-side ceremony.

"I really enjoy performing acoustically and have been looking forward to doing these shows," said Jewel. "It gives me the chance to tell the stories behind my songs and connect with the fans in an intimate setting."

In addition to the tour dates, Jewel will be participating in the second annual A Kiss for CountrySM philanthropic campaign with Mary Kay Inc., the Official Beauty Sponsor of the 42nd Annual CMA Awards. The campaign aims to raise funds for domestic violence prevention through the sale of specially designed celebrity "kiss cards" on uBid.com from Nov. 11, 2008 to Dec. 12, 2008.

Well, I have a cold. I knew it was probably bound to happen as much as I've been traveling and not sleeping- but it sucks! I got it from Ty- he was deathly ill before I left for this weekend’s tour, and I guess I didn’t escape it.

The Valory Music Co. recording artist, renown singer, songwriter, poet and three-time Grammy Nominee Jewel invites Great American Country (GAC) home to her ranch in Stephenville, Texas during the third installment of the network’s original series, Origins (June 28- 9 pm ET), to hear from the people who played a vital role in making her music career.



GAC cameras go on a guided tour of the multi-platinum selling artist’s Stephenville home she shares with rodeo legend Ty Murray, who also appears in the episode. Jewel demonstrates her cowgirl showmanship while riding her horses and she proudly allows the cameras into the couple’s saddle barn and newly renovated home studio. Murray’s parents are also featured in interview segments.



Origins includes a special acoustic concert of songs from Jewel’s new album, Perfectly Clear, which debuted in stores June 3 and at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. Her rekindled childhood love affair with country music shines through her performances of, “Thump, Thump,” “Stronger Woman,” and “I Do.” The footage taped in the Lone Star State features a performance of “Loved By You (Cowboy Waltz),” her first yodeling song ever recorded.
