Now this is a concerts that reminds me why I love music. I saw a band enjoying them, entertaining the crowd. The band existed of singer/pianist, guitarplaye... More... Now this is a concerts that reminds me why I love music. I saw a band enjoying them, entertaining the crowd. The band existed of singer/pianist, guitarplayer/Banjo, a Bass player, percusionist, and a string quartet. They played practically the entire CD Wooden arms. Patrick didn't know sometimes what to do, because he couldn't start playing because of the applaus, wich was really earned. No beer or water for Mr. Watson, He drank whiskey on stage. 1 thing bugged me in the audence. At times there were moments where some people gave more light then there was on stage, with their cellphones. I Think some people don't know anymore what it is to enjoy concerts. am I getting old ? I love al that playing with tiny percusion instruments, like little woodchimes,bells, tomtoms, cymbals. When the encores had to begin, there was movement nxt to the stage, and the band came in the crowed. Patrick was wearing a backpack build out of 5 or 6 tubes with lamps on it. They went to the center of the audience and played a little acoustic set. Then they started a sing-a-long with 'a man under the sea' . I noticed suddenly that only Patrick was in the crowed, then I saw the the soundman standing up, behind his table, and indeed when I turned my head, the band was already back on stage, and took over the sing-a-long and let it explode in a fantastic climax. When this was over the band was bowing, but Patrick Watson consulted everyone of them to see if they were up to 1 more song. And they did. It's possible that this is an act, but it works. It was awesome. After that, the band left, and Patrick came back 1 more time alone to do a small piece on the piano from the cinematic orchestra. It was not too special but a nice way to end a concert. I was so impressed that I bought the Vinyl. I know I allready have the CD, but I just had to buy it, out of excitement. Then I watched the technicians clean up the stage. A classic piano CD was playing and it really was a closing time atmosphere. Back home I relaxed in the couch with a nice single malt to end this evening. It was a long time ago I had such a wonderfull friday evening. Why can't they all be like that.
