This was billed as the Pedal To The Metal Tour with Hellzapoppin, Suicide Silence, Bury Your Dead, Static X, Black Label Society and Mudvayne... only saw BLS and Mudvayne and once again they both ripped some skin! (a Rob Halford of Judas Priest term). BLS started the show with the always memorable "inclement weather siren" with the massive BLS nylon banner covering the stage from floor to ceiling... then the bass kicks in with the intro-riff of Black Mass Reverends and all hell breaks loose! The opener was followed by the incredibly written, perfect metal song: Destruction Overdrive which front man Zakk Wylde shredded through with the violinist precision, effortless style and professional stage presence we've all come to appreciate and love. The show continued with the songs Faith Is Blind, Genocide Junkies, Stoned and Drunk, and included the BLS staples Suicide Messiah, Fire It Up and of course Stillborn. Take note: If BLS is EVER in your town, do not hesitate to go... they always deliver!! Not to be outdone, Mudvayne finished off the Pedal To The Metal Tour with the intensity, detail and pure fury they are known for... lead man/vocalist Chad Gray initially graced the stage with his black colored gorilla suit (sans the head) this time with his hair dyed pure white and styled into the faux-hawk. He then capped off this persona with fake blood streaks running down his face from forehead to chin - it was flippin' awesome! They kicked it off the same way they did a few months ago when I saw them with Not Falling - WOW, talk about a song that gets the pit fully jacked up! Of course I was front center and always within about 10' of the first row in the midst of the ebbs and flows of tight, sweat drenched bodies of ALL ages. Again, I got the looks from the young ones through the college agers.. I can see their face thinking, "hmmm, what the heck is that guy doing here? I wonder if he knows what he's in for?" Of course, I love this.. I love feeling alive and completely plugged in to the aggression and passion of all that metal is... OK, back to the show... Mudvayne continued their metal-onlslaught with gems like Silenced, Dull Boy, Determined, classics off their -1 CD such as Death Blooms, Nothing To Gein and the hit, Dig, as well as the popular & incredible Happy? and Falling Into Sleep. They also played A New Game and the radio favorite Do What You Do. Make no mistake, Mudvayne will go down in history as one of the innovators of modern metal that left an indelible mark on thousands and thousands of fans all over the world.

It was an ok show. Static X was the best by far, except for the tech failures during their set.
