So the Love and Paranoia album is out and getting a great response.

Quan arrives back in Australia from Hong Kong next week for a rehearsal in Brisbane, a quick appearance at the Big Sound conference, and then the tour kicks off for some bright-eyed, spikey fun.
REGURGITATOR - Love And Paranoia (Valve/MGM) - TIME OFF REVIEW
Arguably the coolest Brissy band of the last decade, Regurgitator decamped to the jungle environs of Brazil to record their long-awaited sixth studio album Love And Paranoia, and they’ve come up with their best collection of songs since 1997’s Unit. Guitarist/vocalist Quan Yeomans has penned some of the best tracks on the album, including arresting lead single ‘Blood And Spunk’, the rocking, bass-heavy ‘Michelle’ (which includes an awesome stadium/glam rock guitar solo), and the epic title track. Not to be outdone, bassist/vocalist Ben Ely adds some slightly foreboding but often hilarious musings of his own with the poptastic ‘Hurricane’, the wonderfully-titled ‘Drinking Beer Is Awesome!’, and the eerie, eletronica-infused closing track ‘Armageddon Premonition’. New permanent addition to the ’Gurg fold, keys/vocalist Seja Vogel (ex-Sekiden), provides retro-drenched sounds across the album, as well as trading lines with Yeomans on the stalker love story synth-pop classic ‘Romance Of The Damned’. She also wrote and sings the Kim Deal-esque ‘Magnetic’, which features a hip keys solo. Keeping things unexpected, as they’ve always done so well, ‘(Ad Spot)’ is a terse, 35 seconds of TV/radio advertising jibberish set to a blaring keys intro and chunky riff. Regurgitator fans from the days of their 1996 debut Tu-Plang may claim LAP lacks the edge of that era, but the fact remains that this album is up there with their best work.

Regurgitator headed down south to Brazil during the past year to record their sixth album LOVE AND PARANOIA… welcome to a jungle of 80s inspired, keyboard driven poprock tunes featuring opening track BLOOD AND SPUNK. Quan, Ben, Pete, and latest permanent addition Seja Vogel (from Sekiden) on keyboard duty packed their bags and jetted off into a great unknown to produce one of their most stylistically consistent albums ever. So after a few years of short tours and one off festival appearances they now take this latest escapade to the backroads of Australia across October and November.
Along for the romance will be special friends – NEW PANTS from China and I HEART HIROSHIMA. Quan hanging out in Hong Kong had the great fortune to witness New Pants live with their catchy embrace of “gerling, new order, biz, and ramones”, and it was love at first listen for him. So hey ho let’s do a tour together, and with their new album Dragon Tiger Panacea out now in Australia… here we go for a group hug. I Heart Hiroshima have just released their debut album Tuff Teef, recently described by Robert Forster (The Go-Betweens) as “the best band he has seen from Brisbane in years”…and of course their friendship and inclusion makes for nothing more than a grand bouquet.
On the North Qld shows only... SEKIDEN will now raise their popstrewn heads from their
latest album recording and prior to their Japanese tour in November...
as will Ben Ely's JUMP 2 LIGHT SPEED on the Nov 2 Windsor show.
