Hello guys and gals, John here. We are doing something that we have done in the past with our previous albums that may have a little more freedom of interpretation and reinvention. This is. or should be...., the art & packaging files of our new album "The Satanic Satanist". I remember one moment very vividly that I found to be one of those fantastic moments in the making of this album. Austin had me over for hours and hours, as you can imagine, working on illustrations and template ideas... days and days... when we came down to the coloring. I ended up doing a bunch of splashes in watercolor all in blues and greens, something that he could take and change to the colors of his choosing. After a week or so with the colors Austin ended up calling me at the end of his artistic rope needing help. He sent over the black line drawings on their white background and the layers of blue splashes to try and offer some sort of plan or idea or push. I opened the files and, need to be honest here, had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what to do with it. It actually hurt my head to even think about. I am not one who can easily handle the mass of layers that file in and out of photo shop Needless to say, I had no idea what to do with the color and had no intention of trying anything at all (though I told Austin I had tried... sorry man). That very night, or morning, around 2am Austin Sellers sends me what would ultimately end up being the color scheme and layout of the album. It blew my mind. Sometimes it only takes lifting that pressure for a moment to get things moving again. Really great work by Austin with this. Very impressive.

We would love to see what you all can do with these files. Feel free to build stencils, to rebuild the package, to draw up new templates. Have fun with it. This is what Austin and I do every time we sit down together. Have fun!

Download The Satanic Satanist raw artwork files (125mb)
