Hey folks, as you can see there is more than one Kittyhawk. We are the band that released the album "Kill Devil Hills" in 2000. All of our songs have links for streaming and the last one that's actually ours is Shadow Dancer.
We started our band and named it in 1996. Years later we learned that there had been a Prog Rock band in the early 80s who used the name first so we stopped using it. Since that time MANY others have used it as well including the other band that has songs on this iLike page. We contacted them and told them the deal but it looks they want to keep using it anyway. In our case, the older Kittyhawk had ZERO web presence until we had been using the name for years. As for everyone else - WE were all over the web from the time we started and a simple google would've told them that so they're not living on the good side of the force.
If you go to almost any music site you will see a mish-mash of songs from us, the original Kittyhawk (who long after us decided to get on the web) and probably one or two others. Our mistake was innocent and we stopped using the name when we found out. We only released the one album with 12 songs. Fans of the other band (out of DC) that is still using the name are encouraged to help them see reason and change their name to something unique (we didn't have to because we broke up).
The core of our band, Jennifer Zablocki and Pier Giacalone have taken a break to have a couple of kids. We're working on new stuff tho and we'll be back eventually. Thanks to all of our fans who made the whole shebang so much fun. Our one album can still be purchased at cdbaby and amazon.
Sincerely,
The "more original than most" former Kittyhawk.
