Janet to Kick-Off This Sunday's "American Music Awards"

New Album Number Ones In Stores Now

Los Angeles, CA (November 20, 2009) - The video for "Make Me," the brand-new single from multi-platinum artist JANET JACKSON, will premiere tonight on ABC-TV's "20/20." Robert Hales directed the video.

The song, which Janet produced with Rodney Jerkins, appears on her new two-disc set, NUMBER ONES (Ume/EMI), a 33-song collection of her global No. 1 hits. The album celebrates the career and artistry of one of the most successful and influential artists in music history.

This Sunday, November 22, Janet will kick off the 2009 American Music Awards with a special opening medley. The show will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

This will be her fourth performance on the AMA's, following  "Together Again" in 1998, "Escapade" in 1990 and "Control" in 1987. Janet is also a 9-time American Music Award winner, having won the award for Soul/R&B Single for "Nasty" as well as for Soul/R&B Video Female in 1987. Her hit "Miss You Much" garnered two nods in 1990 for Dance Single and Soul/R&B Single and in 1991 she took home the prizes for Dance Artist, Pop/Rock Female and Soul/R&B Female. Janet Jackson also earned an AMA in 1999 for Soul/R&B Female and in 2002 for Pop/Rock Female.

Earlier this week, millions of fans tuned in to watch Janet on a special edition of ABC-TV's "In The Spotlight with Robin Roberts."
