Wow, crazy! Cool in a way too, though (I'm a baritone...I wonder if he threatened any of them? He was Handel, he did what he wanted! lol I think he would be one of the people I'd like to meet if I could travel back in time. Anyway, does anybody have any particular favorite pieces he/she'd like to share?
I'll start by saying that Verdi Prati from Alcina has moved me to tears on numerous occasions. :'-)

Real story. A diva soprano with a rep 4 being difficult was complaining 'bout a song she was singing. Handel finally got fed up and grabbed her, carried her to the window, and faked that he was gonna throw her out. She didn't complain anymore. It probably was funny at the time.

I thought that was only in the Classical Kids CD (Hallelujah Handel)!

Handel threatened to throw a soprano (I think one of the rival queen) out of a window if she didn't sing what he wanted her to. I don't think there's any evidence that he ever killed anybody.
