Went to the Paris gig, not in Pigalle but rue Oberkampf ;). Barry was a Maestro. A real GENT, as always.

went to the awesome pigalle gig last nite, fantastic!
it was alot like the place ron burgundy played jazz flute in..was a bit woried barry would wallow in his jazzier work. was proved wrong when he started with my fave, the glorious 'still i rise'!... i believe, in an attempt to let the guys still eatin thier dinner that this gig was gonna be real..

Great gig in Bristol, Mr Adamson was in fine form & the band are shit hot. The set was mostly the very fine new LP, though there were some oldies - a highlight including Jazz Devil & a great closing cover version of Sly & the Family Stone's Thank You...a song Magazine used to do! My only complaint is Barry & band could do a mean version of Set the Controls for the Heart of the Pelvis, & wouldn't it be fun if they played a Magazine song in that style? Not sure which one - The Light Pours Out o... More...
