The new a-ha single "Foot of the Mountain" is classic a-ha: catchy hook, anthemic chorus, and soaring vocal - strong pop-sensibility wrapped in yearning and melancholia of the finest Scandinavian lineage.

Throughout a long career, a-ha has retained a unique and distinctive voice, and the new song "Foot of the Mountain" combines their ever maturing song-writing skills with a newfound ability to embrace their own musical history - without plundering it.

It also features one of the truly unique voices in popular music: Morten Harket, who has the ability to deliver complex and often dark subject matter as if were it a beautiful flower arrangement, leaving you a lasting impression, and aching for more.

Through dogged determinism and by doing things their own way, a-ha continues to give the world more of the music it really needs - whether it knows it or not.

The single is produced by Roland Spremberg and mixed by Steve Osborne at Real World Studios, UK. The new album on Universal Norway is scheduled for release June 2009.
