Sample Help

Sometimes I'm too wordy. Apologies. But since this is just a sample, and there's nothing for you to gain from my writing this save a minor annoyance and a nearly-imperceptible smirk (if I'm lucky, which I likely won't be), I'll continue setting the bar as low as possible until you click Ok.

Help

The app is fairly straightforward. Enter the videos you own and see what everyone else owns--maybe you can borrow something from a friend or loan something out.

I tried to leave little helpful breadcrumbs wherever I thought things might get confusing. The items look like this [?] and will pop up a dialog with some tips.

So, if you feel the need, please plop a question on the below wall and I'll either answer it or take it into consideration as something someone else might ask about. Beyond that, enjoy. Drop me a note. Poke me, whatever. But have fun, be nice, and share, legally.

I'm on a mac and the PDF version NEVER works for me. I really wish there was some way around that, because I'd love to have the PDF.

Hi. I've got several dvds I would like to add, but currently aren't in the database. Can I add them myself into the database somehow?

Regards, Yvonne

Will, not sure. I just tested and the PDF generated for me fine, but I'm running WinXP. Any Mac users out there use the PDF?

Will wroteat 12:47am on February 22

Hey. love the app, but when I try to export the list as a PDF, it won't open in my browser (both Safari & Firefox) and when I try to download it to open it, it won't open with Adobe or Preview. Does it not work because I have a mac, or is this a bug?
Thanks

Use the red 'x' on the same line as the item you want to delete, you can do this from either the Default Collection view (deletes from all sub-collections as well as default) or from the Edit Collection Contents screen, which will just delete from a sub-collection.

How do I remove a DVD from my collection?

Mark wroteat 4:41pm on January 25

Simon, I found that with a Search Locale of .co.uk when searching for 'zombie diaries'. That the one?

Simon wroteat 1:44pm on January 25

I have a DVD which isn't on the list. It's called The Zombie Diaries. How can I get this as this is the only movie I own which isn't in the search.

The average ratings weren't showing properly. Also Run Times were having problems.

Mark wroteat 6:47am on December 26, 2007

The links on the EVAR! list were broken. Fixed.

Signing up for new accounts was buggy today. Should be fixed now. Message me if otherwise.

Mark wroteat 3:33pm on December 17, 2007

There was an issue earlier where trying to add Videos that didn't have a release date on record (odd, but it happens) would cause an error. This has been fixed.

Mark wroteat 8:59pm on December 5, 2007

If you had been trying to view details for a Die Hard boxed set, I fixed the problem you were having.

Mark wroteat 8:08am on November 15, 2007

Now that Collections can be made public, there is a 'vs.' link next to any visible Collection (whether public or because you are friends, etc). The vs. screen shows your Collection against the Collection of someone else. The vs. screen can now be re-sorted as well, which can make similarities easier to spot or help to discover things you may not have noticed otherwise.

I turned on some Video Statistics that had been around before, but were too inefficient. I fixed... the glitch...

There was also an issue where the Reviews options weren't showing up on the Video Details page, that should be fixed as well.

Mark wroteat 10:51pm on October 29, 2007

There was an issue where Facebook Users that hadn't added the Flixville app wouldn't be able to see a Collection they had permission to see (your friends would get an error if they tried to view your Collection, even if you had the Collection's visibility set to be visible to Friends). That was confusing to type, but the issue, I believe, is now resolved.

Mark wroteat 9:58pm on October 28, 2007

Earlier there was no "New Collection" button showing. I found the typo and corrected that. Also, I started populating the FAQ. If there are ideas on other things that belong there, please put them on the questions wall.

There was something nasty going on in the Flixville database when running the full statistics for a Video. This was not only making pages fail to load, it was beating the tar out of the db itself. I'll fix it, as the stats are one of my favorite features.
