Quick to calm their anxieties about being replaced by newer arrivals, Woody finds his own confidence shaken, and his status as top toy in jeopardy, upon the arrival of Buzz Lightyear, simply the coolest space action figure ever made. Woody plots to get rid of Buzz, but things backfire and he finds himself lost in the outside world with Buzz as his only companion. Joining forces to find their way home, the two rivals set out on an adventure that lands them in the clutches of Sid, a sadistic neighborhood kid who is notorious for dismembering and reassembling "mutant" toys in his bedroom. As "guests" of Sid and his dog, Scud, the two fugitive toys forge a genuine friendship and learn that only through mutual trust and respect do they have any chance of survival.

That's not to say it's not still very good, as it is, but some of the shine has been lost due to the fact that I've seen more recent Pixar movies. It's still worth watching and still scores highly but I've had to drop it from a 9 to an 8.

For better or worse, changed the way movies are made. Why isn't this in the criterion collection? Seriously?

The first fully computer generated animation, this film still looks amazing almost fifteen years later. While the overall story plot is pretty insignificant, the idea of walking, talking toys voiced by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen is unforgettable. Also, as a fan of Joss Whedon his influence on the screenplay adds another dimension of pizzazz for me. Overall, a milestone in animation that still holds it's own against others being released today.
Mignon, mais j'ai préféré le 2. Les intrigues sont d'ailleurs très similaires.
Terrific animation when it came out 15 years ago. Still a wonderful entertainment, especially with kids at home.
