Yep, not the Kenneth Branaugh mini-series, this documentary is fabulous. Liam Neeson takes you on the re-telling of what was truly an impossible rescue of the Endurance crew.
two years in cold and ice-yuck and they never made it to Ant! but it was a pretty interesting story of how the entire crew made it home alive. definitely a Caleb pick.
Unbelievable footages and story.
Beautiful and sentimental, this is a must-see if you ever in your life enjoyed those tall tales of adventure.

Es una historia increible de principio del siglo pasado combinada con una fotografias increibles de la epoca y algo de pelicula de la epoca.
Increible que esta historia, con todos los requisitos, no haya sido llevada al cine.
Holy shit.
Never complain again about whatever bullshit you're going through.

What a story.
Such a well made doc. Great interviews, AMAZING footage and a story that's just so insane that it has to be true. Really will make you feel like a layabout piece of shit.

The inclusion of actual film and photos from the expedition was haunting and powerful. What is amazing is that something like 30,000 people applied to go on this trip in 1914--what does that say about British culture in that day? The movie well illustrates a key principle of survival, which is absolute flexibility and contentment of mind. When the ship got stuck in the ice and it was apparent that they wouldn't be able to reach the South Pole, Shackleton simply switched to the goal of getting everyone home safely and did so without bemoaning or regretting. Staying overly focused on the wrong goals can be disastrous in the survival situations, otherwise. The documentary also provides an interesting glimpse of Shackleton himself, a family man who wrote of himself that he seems to be no good at anything in life other than being out in the wilds of the earth.
Great story about courage, leadership, and risking it all for glory. I have family members who have worked in Antarctica. I always love hearing stories about this place. This is one not to miss

Ernest Shakleton shows his true colors as a great leader by both forging through the elements and keeping his men semi-sane. It's an inspiring story. Note to fans of penguins, seals and puppies: many of said creatures are slaughtered (for good cause, I think). Be advised.
Un documentaire extraordinaire pour un exploit extraordinaire! Tout simplement inimaginable ce que ces gars la ont fait!
Fascinating. I just don't get the desire to return though! Great movie on leadership and understanding that people are more important than the goal.
Critic Reviews
Footage from a remarkable silent documentary has been combined with new photography, music and a narration to produce an even more remarkable sound documentary.full review
Aimed at a more adult audience than Adventure, Endurance has a haunting, melancholy quality.full review
You become like a restless child at bedtime stilled and enraptured by the sheer power of narrative, and your skepticism is overwhelmed by a childlike greediness for vicarious adventure.full review
