(read more) Initially not a personal favorite, but as an animation and old-school Disney buff, this animated classic is astounding, and is certainly one of the studio's best! (I might eventually add it onto my list of favorite and/or best Disney films of all time.) Has all the right ingredients: an engaging heroine, a perfect supporting cast of characters (Flounder, Sebastian, and Scuddle), an outrageously menacing villian, and unforgettable music by Alan Menkan and the late Howard Ashman. ("Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl" are showstoppers, and the "Part of Your World" scene is breathtaking.) Ushered in a whole new generation of Disney classics with "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin," and "The Lion King."

As a kid, this movie wasn't one of my favorites... as a teenager, I still failed to fully enjoy it. I guess I just dont like princesses.

I liked this whole movie better when the cover of the VHS had a large penis on it
